Southern California, Riverside County - Right Now

Robin Zimpfer, Assistant County Executive Officer / EDA. Economic Development, Workforce Development, Redevelopment, Community Services, Housing/Housing Authority, Marketing, Aviation & Air Shows, Riverside County Fair & National Date Festival, Edward-Dean Museum & Gardens

As the head of the Riverside County Economic Development Agency (EDA), Robin Zimpfer continually renews the agency’s efforts to keep Riverside County’s economic engine humming in this rapidly changing global economy.

New initiatives at EDA include:

  • Rchomelink.com – Housing in Riverside County is abundant and affordable. A county-wide marketing campaign drives homebuyers to this website where they can search available homes for sale in the county and learn about homebuyer assistance programs offered through EDA.
  • Go Green – With the leadership of the Fourth District County Supervisor, EDA will install solar electric systems in all its Redevelopment projects in the desert, reducing electric costs of public service facilities such as libraries, fire stations, and community centers. Water-wise landscaping is installed in agency projects.
  • Business Education Coalition (BEC) – With the Workforce Development Board, EDA is building alliances with business and education to develop technical career tracks, for young people, that transition into careers or a college education.

EDA continues to drive capital investment in the county, approving 35 new industrial and commercial projects in 07/08 that will create more than 9,000 jobs and a capital investment of $873 million in land, buildings and equipment. More than $478 million in EDA projects are in design or under construction throughout the county.

By boosting sales, business growth, and career and education opportunities, the Riverside County Economic Development Agency increases jobs, wages and investment that enrich the county’s quality of life and make Riverside County a great place, to live, work and play.
