Souplantation, a California-based restaurant specializing in made-from-scratch soups, salads and bakery goods, has leased approximately 7,000 square-feet of retail space in the Komar Desert Center located at 79-705 Highway 111 in La Quinta. The restaurant will accommodate approximately 210 guests and is scheduled for completion in December 2008 Souplantation, which is celebrating its 30-year anniversary this year, offers affordable, all-you-care-to-eat prices and features salads showcased on a 55-foot salad bar that are prepared exhibition style every 20 minutes. The La Quinta location will be the second restaurant in the Riverside County and the first to feature the new prototype design. The design offers a “contemporary farmers market” look, with a mixture of authentic and new, earthy and industrial. The interior has an exposed ceiling, dropped lighting creating an urban feel, and high, barn-like windows to bring in natural light. Souplantation was founded in 1978 in San Diego, California and currently operates 110 salad buffet-style restaurants across the western, southern, and eastern portions of the United States. Souplantation features an everyday selection of made-from-scratch soups and salads and hand-crafted muffins, focaccia, breads, and desserts. The concept is built around freshly made, great-tasting, recipes with a 55-foot salad bar full of seasonal vegetables and tossed salads prepared exhibition-style every 20 minutes. Restaurants are open daily for lunch and dinner and also for Sunday breakfast featuring a variety of wholesome breakfast favorites in addition to everyday selections. Souplantation provides its guests with an excellent value by offering unlimited access to its entire menu of high quality fresh items at a fixed price. |
