The Hart Gallery

"Night Club," oil on canvas, 72" x 48", by Neil Nagy.

Special Advertorial Feature

Visiting El Paseo, the premier shopping mile in the desert, one has a choice of great galleries. However one art gallery on the west end stands out and holds a surprise for art lovers. After yet another expansion and remodel, The Hart Gallery has become the destination of choice for art shoppers with a taste for something different. The elegant building on El Paseo is hard to miss and visitors will be impressed with the large and wide-open exhibition areas, the upbeat atmosphere and professional service.

With roots in Europe, The Hart Gallery has been bringing art from all over the world to this country for 10 years. Having operated galleries in Chicago and Carmel, the Hart Family has now focused on their Flagship store in Palm Desert for over six years. The impressive collection of art features fine prints by Picasso, Chagall, and Miró among others as well as works by renowned national and international contemporary artists. The curators of The Hart Gallery travel the world to find unique art with proven quality beyond decoration and commercial trends.

World-famous artists from Europe like Paul Wunderlich or Willi Kissmer exhibit alongside some of the finest Californian artists like Neil Nagy from the Bay Area Figurative movement or jd hansen, the exciting young sculptor from Orange County, both of whom will be prominently featured this season.

It has always been the endeavour of Eva Hart to make sophisticated art approachable and to make the daunting process of acquiring a valuable work of art a pleasant experience without surprises or regrets. “Our main goal is to become art consultants to our patrons for life and to develop a relationship based on trust,” says Eva Hart. For that she and her nephew, Gallery Director Christian Hohmann and his team, have always gone out of their way to offer services to their patrons that encompass a lot more than just facilitating an acquisition. “It is our philosophy to help our clients to integrate new art with their existing collection and assist in proper placement in order to achieve the magical balance and harmony that transforms a house into a home with character and spirit.” Out-of-town visitors will receive the same attention as local collectors, with high-tech “virtual home shows” and a generous “shipping on approval” policy.

Those art collectors who appreciate unique and original paintings and sculptures, works of art that don’t follow the trend, will find a visit to The Hart Gallery a most rewarding experience. With more than eight exhibitions per season, a lecture series, several major solo presentations, the much anticipated Annual Gala, and charity events throughout the year, The Hart Gallery has become a place where art and culture meet.
